2019-SHO-Moderus

Since the beginning of my collaboration with Moderus, in agreement with the owners, we have always tried to keep a high profile of projects, in a Muscovite jungle made up of an infinity of offices of interior designers whose professional skills are all to be verified…

The studio “spends” my participation as Italian Senior Architect to position itself on a middle-high customer segment and it avails itself of important collaborations with studios specialized in rendering (Projective studio Design&Architecture of art director Sergey Demurin) and with prestigious studies of architecture (among which those of famous Dmitry Pshenichnikov with his dp-partners.ru), able to attend to the necessary boring administrative and bureaucratic practises with competence and speed.

My contribution, essentially technical at first, has evolved with the passing of time, in accordance with the needs of the studio, and it has made me mature also on a strictly commercial plan.

There are in fact many clients who, besides the flair of an Italian architect, love to insert furniture from the catalogue and/or on design made in Italy in their project.

In this case it is me who, from my studio in Erba, in the heart of the furniture industry, personally contact and visit the firms, ask for catalogues, conditions of sale, discounts and then I send the offers to the Russian studio. After the order my role goes back to be merely technical and turns into that of sponsor for the client. Many are in fact the controls for the advancement and quality of the work which, together with photographic reports, I send to Moscow so as to keep all the actors at stake updated.

The location of the studio in the city of Moscow is important for various aspects:

First of all, it has to be easily accessible, far from the usual traffic jams of the Russian metropolis, close enough to the centre and possibly endowed with a parking space.

In the course of the years we have moved from the prestigious Gostiny Dvor, in the heart of Moscow, a few steps from the Kremlin, where however finding a parking space is a nightmare and where, in case of important State events, mobile phone do not work for reasons of public order…..to a less prestigious location, but always in the centre, infinitely better served and without any parking problems.

The one that I present in this section is the latest (February 2020) evolution of our studio of design. The new space is inside the Nevskiy Pricha, built at the foot of the residential block of buildings under construction of General Krost where the “Moderus Interior Remont office” ( see portfolio 2017-MOD-Moderus) has already been set up and is functioning.

The owners’ idea is that of making an exhibition space available to the clients: here a selection of middle-high level Italian companies can be introduced in rotation.

What Moderus needs is in fact a range of companies which could become ideal partners to satisfy the clients of the numerous projects in progress.

For this reason, the initial choice fell on the Italian company of industrial kitchens “No-logo”, in which the matching of Italian design and quality can compete with the local products thanks to “reasonable” prices.

The staging, however, is always in progress, meaning with this that the clients themselves dictate the choice of what is better to show them so that they can touch and promote. For this reason, the selection of the firms, which I am doing in first person, does not stop at a complete set-up, but is in continuous expansion.

The latest example is the recent commercial agreement with Essedue comfort design di Arosio which, thanks to the excellent and innovative production of convertible pieces of furniture, will be able to help us to solve many project situations for the spaces, always to the limit, of the new Muscovite flats.
