It was with this second Chechen villa, with a round plant, that my experience as an independent contractor architect started.
After our first Chechen experiences side by side, even if with different competence, Architect Stefan Scek of Omnia-Arhing, saw in me a reliable partner, able to take care of the whole design process related to the interior of this new project under construction in Tsentaroy, the native -off-limits- village of the Kadyrov family.
Leaving Jumbo Collection after five years of continuous growth was for me an exciting challenge which launched me at last to face the liberal profession as an architect.
Being independent from a furniture company allowed me to increase the range of propositions that I could offer my clients.
In this project, with a millionaire budget, I handled -contemporaneously and in first person- many firms for the supply of furniture (Cappelletti, Mascheroni, Epocart, Silik, Riva Mobili d’arte, Rampoldi, Galimberti), lights (Zonca, Antonio Ciulli, Laudarte, Iris Cristal), carpets (Mohebban), curtains and fabrics (Erre Erre Diffusion).
The procedure is always the same, only the actors on the field change. After understanding the clients’ requirements and tastes and after carrying out an accurate on-site inspection I refine the project to submit to the clients for the final approval and then I run the definitive designs which become executive for the production.
My new role as the responsible architect obliged me to follow everything, even the commercial side relative to the orders.
I overcame all these difficulties also thanks to my trusted collaborator-translator-advisor Taras Lazaryuk. With him, in these first days as an independent contractor I shared days and kilometres on the road for inspections on-site and checks in order to guarantee the regular progress of the work both in Italy, with the companies involved, and in Chechnya , on the construction site and with the lady client.
After handling with Omnia-Arhing also the logistics relative to the transport and the customs clearance of all the goods ordered, the work moved on-site for the assistance, always in first person, of all the phases, from the unloading and temporary storage until the final assembly.
These were really intense months, a test bench that only the final hug of an enthusiastic client definitely enshrined and gave me the first piece of a solo career all to be written.
