2016-LIB-Mydomus

Libera is an idea for a collection of furniture born from the mind, always in turmoil, of Ezio Panzeri for Mydomus.

Panzeri in fact, practically from nothing, created and set up TAyPO design, making me work for the occasion with a good designer, Alessandro Politi.

In a crescendo of positive “rantings” and of days of total sclerosis we prepared designs, rendering and prototypes for the collection which was presented at the Salone del Mobile 2016.

The name of the catalogue derives from Adalberto Libera, an architect belonging to the modern movement of the 1930’s together with the better known Luigi Figini, Gino Pollini, Giuseppe Terragni, etc…

The idea at the base is that of proposing iconic objects more than a complete series classically divided into day area, night area, etc.., precisely inspired by the 30’s.

In phase of prototyping our lives were complicated beyond measure by the choice of  materials such as ebony for wood, golden aluminium for the metallic parts, extra clear crystal for the tops and the closet doors, velvet for the padded parts and some “bold” choices, such as the metallic spiral-shaped legs of the table as well as the V-boxed bases. But, thanks to the able artisans found by Panzeri in his infinite production chain, the goal was reached with a good response from the public and the professionals.
